Middle School Youth

For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. Romans 12:4-5

Welcome! The middle school youth group at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church is open to all youth in grades 6 through 8.

We meet for Sunday school each morning at 9:30am in the youth room and spend the hour studying and discussing the Bible and Christian discipleship, exploring our faith, praying, and preparing for worship. We also take some time each Sunday morning to talk through the highs and lows each of us has experienced during the week. Confirmation takes place in 8th grade and also meets each Sunday at 9:30am.

For youth group, we typically meet at the church on Sunday afternoons or evenings. Some weeks we will participate in service work, while other weeks we will focus on Bible exploration, getting to know different members of our church, learning about important social issues and how we impact the world around us, or just enjoying time together in fellowship. We are blessed to have wonderful youth leaders and Sunday school teachers – Rebecca Thompson, Allison Tibe, Lisa McLennan, David Caldwell, Matt Baskerville, Stevee Baskerville, and James Hart – and an incredible group of youth shepherds and parent volunteers.

We hope you will join us!
